THE LAUNCH OF DASH ME FOUNDATION

-

Dash Me Foundation is a social enterprise registered in Nigeria and New York. It raises money for orphanages, domestic abuse shelters and projects for disadvantaged youth. It has formed strategic partnerships in the UK and USA, including the diaspora communiy to directly fund eligible projects in Nigeria.

DashMe Store, is the first project in Nigeria and was recently launched in Lekki by His Execellency, Vice President, Yemi Osibajo. The store and website sells donated items which are either brand new or very gently used. Donors include, shops clearing unsold new stock, businesses with excess stock from COVID lockdown and individuals decluttering their wardrobes.

On display in the store were a range of clothes, shoes, household goods, including designer goods. All the proceeds are used to support the needy, one of the beneficiary of these projects, Ayuba Gufwan, a man with a disability, gave a moving speech on the benefits of the foundation and spoke on behalf of the body, Wheel Chairs for Nigeria. He spoke about societal discriminations people like himself have had to face and thanked the NGO for making lives of the disadvantaged a bit better with their philanthropic gesture.

This speech in itself, is enough encouragement for donors knowing that no matter how little they donate, it goes a long way in impacting the recipients which makes the act of donation a very worthy venture.
