Moro Accuses APC of Sinister Motives

- George Okoh

The Minister of Interior, Mr. Abba Moro, has alleged that the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) may have a sinister agenda to Islamise Nigerian.

Moro spoke at the weekend, at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders’ town hall meeting, in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, organised by the state office of the Goodluck/ Sambo re-election campaign organisation

The minister noted that an incline to the Islamist agenda of the APC could be deduced from the composition of the party’s leadership at the national level.

“How can anyone explain the fact that the national leader of the party, the presidential candidate, and almost all members of the national working committee of the party are Muslims in a secular state like Nigeria.

“That should be telling us something and every discerning mind in the country should have reasons to pause and ponder so that Nigerians don’t allow themselves to be used by a selected few to achieve their selfish aspiration.”

Moro, who urged Nigerians and Benue voters in particular to support President Goodluck Jonathan and all PDP candidates in the coming election stressed that “PDP is the only party that provides all Nigerians the platform to actualise their dreams, hopes and aspiration”

In his remarks, Benue State PDP governorship candidate, Mr. Terhemen Tarzoor, urged the people to rally round all PDP candidates in the coming elections, promising to build on the legacies of the present administration if voted into power.

In his speech, the state Coordinator of the Goodluck/ Sambo campaign organisation, Dr. Sam Ode, said: “President Goodluck Jonathan has performed creditably hence he should be supported to do more for Nigerians.”
