Robbers Kill Bank Customer in Lagos

A gang of armed robbers yesterday shot a 25-year-old Kingsley Chukwudi who was said to be entering the premises of a new generation bank in the Apapa area of Lagos. Though the robbery was said to be an attempt on the bank which was foiled by policemen on guard duty at the bank, the hoodlums allegedly made away with the deceased laptop bag containing cash and other valuables. It was gathered that the robbers allegedly trailed the deceased customer, who hails from Imo State, to the bank where they immediately opened fire on him. An eyewitness claimed the robbers thought that the deceased was leaving the banking hall with huge cash. “The young man is a security guard for our company here in Apapa. He was carrying his laptop bag and the robbers thought he was going to deposit money into the bank but it was just his laptop bag. “Apapa is like a theatre of war now. The body of Chukwudi has been taken to Area B Police Command in Apapa and a lot of people are crying because he was a very good person,” the witness said. Meanwhile, the police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed the incident, noted that the police was on the trail of the hoodlums.
