FA Cup: Moses Reveals Chelsea Aiming for Double

Ahead of tomorrow’s English FA Cup final clash between Chelsea and Arsenal, Nigeria’s Victor Moses has revealed that the Blues are determined to add the title to the Premiership they won this season.

“We’ve got the league (Premier League) title and they (Arsenal) are going to want to win because they missed out on top four. We’re going to try and stop them because we want the double,” observed Moses who was converted to a wing-back by Chelsea’s Italian manager, Antonio Conte this season.

Moses who returned reckoning following his new role at Stamford Bridge, insisted that the league champions are not under any pressure ahead of tomorrow’s final.

“We don’t feel any pressure. If he (Antonio Conte) says Arsenal are the favourites, then… I don’t know, but we’ve got good players that can win us games,” Moses stressed.

The Blues are unfazed by the form of Arsenal’s standout player of the season, Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean international has been the Gunners’ star player this season. He’s netted 29 times and weighed in with 15 assists across all competitions and is likely to start at Wembley as Arsene Wenger’s side aim to salvage a disappointing campaign by clinching the trophy.

Moses, remains adamant that he’s not worried about Alexis.

“I haven’t got a plan to stop him! He’s had a great season, he’s done well for Arsenal but whether he’s injured or not we’re just going to play our football,” Moses said, as reported by Goal. com.

“It’s going to be a very hard game for us on Saturday. Arsenal are a good team with good players that can win them games. But we’re just concentrating on ourselves at the moment, working hard in training and hopefully we’ll go and do the job.

Moses could line-up directly against Sanchez in the final should Wenger revert back to a 4-2-3-1 formation with the 28-year-old taking up a familiar position on the left-hand side behind the main centre-forward.

Only Kane (29) and Lukaku (24) scored more Premier League goals than Alexis this season.

Given that Alexis is a tricky customer with the ball at his feet – having completed 109 take-ons in the Premier League this season – Moses will have to be switched on defensively and his 50 per cent success rate in tackles as well as making 37 interceptions bodes well for a fascinating duel.
