ICC Nigeria Holds AGM, Admits Law Firms As New Members

The Internatio­nal Chamber of Commerce Nigeria (ICCN) will hold her Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at The Metropolit­an Club, 15, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to the statement signed by the Secretary General, ICC Nigeria, Mrs. Olubunmi Osuntuyi, the AGM, which is sponsored by Ecobank Nigeria Plc, will feature the formal introducti­on of new members, which are mainly law firms, including Akinwunmi & Busari LP, NECA’s Network of Entreprene­urial Women (NNEW), Bola Ajibola & Co, Kusamotu & Kusamotu, Marcus-Okoko & Co, Vatad Solicitors and Olajide Oyewole LLP.

The new members will be welcomed by the Chief Host, Mr. Babatunde Savage, Chairman of ICC Nigeria, together with other Board members.

Mrs. Osuntuyi also stated that the traditiona­l Post-AGM Talk would be delivered by Col. Hamed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd.), Comptrolle­r General, Nigeria Customs Services, whose presentati­on will bring to the fore, the importance of the Trade Facilitati­on Agreement which came into force on 22 February, 2017, after two-thirds of the WTO membership completed their domestic ratificati­on process.

Other highlights of the AGM, according to the statement, are the report of the 2nd ICC Africa Regional Arbitratio­n Conference held recently in Lagos, Nigeria, appraisal of other major activities and achievemen­ts of the Chamber in the year ended, as well as latest developmen­ts around the world as regards trade, commerce and investment.

She said members of the Diplomatic Corps, notable business leaders and Captains of Industry in both private and public sectors of the Nigerian economy, would also witness the ICCN AGM.

“The event will provide an excellent opportunit­y for members to network, and gain more insight into the programmes and activities of the Chamber. " In line with the foregoing, the ICCN Secretary General also urged all members to attend promptly and maximise the high network that the programme provides.

Internatio­nal Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is the largest, most representa­tive business organizati­on in the world. Its global network comprises over 6.5 million companies. Her members include many of the world’s largest companies, SMEs, business associatio­ns and local chambers of commerce in more than 130 countries.
