IN PRAISE OF BOSUN ARUWE
It is quite disappointing that the new trend in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) sometimes favours nominating the wrong persons for vital positions in the party. The time is ripe for the party to do thorough investigation in any local government in Lagos State with a view to presenting people with unquestionable character to occupy eminent positions. May I therefore suggest that the party looks inward to do everything possible for the progress of the party in each local government in Lagos and its environs.
Hon. Bosun Aruwe has done well in the area of education by purchasing GCE forms for indigent students in the 10 wards of Mushin Local Government Area. Let it be said that he has not done this for political interest any less than he drew inspiration from the immortal words of late South African President Nelson Mandela who said: “Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.”
As an astute politician who has literally bestrode Mushin LGA like a colossus, Hon. Aruwe donated computer accessories to various schools in the council to aid the students’ quest for ICT literacy. The people of Mushin Local Government have enjoyed the dividend of democracy through Hon. Aruwe such that it is a comedy of error for the APC to nominate him as vice-chairman of the local government as this can only ridicule the man who has done so much in all ramifications.
I believe the party’s hierarchy should have a rethink and give him the chairmanship ticket in the forthcoming election so that Mushin may witness growth in leaps and bounds.
Hon. Aruwe has achieved unprecedented success as a grassroots politician in Mushin local council in addition to empowering the youth, restructuring of the council as well as helping to ensure sustainable peace and development in the area.
He also organised a seminar for youth by enlightening them on the need to eschew violence and disorderliness. In his quest at making the youth financially independent, he donated to them several tri-cycles, sewing machines and barbers’ clippers, among other tools.
As the Joshua of our time, Hon. Aruwe will take us out of the land of Egypt and bring us to the Promised Land in Mushin. Anjorin Adeolu, Lagos
