Boundless, first thematic business magazine in Nigeria has been introduced into the industry.
The magazine, which will be based in Lagos would be published every two months and would be disseminated digitally via online and social media platforms.
It is to cover such areas as business (strategy and operations, innovation and technology, sales and marketing), the economy, health and fitness, lifestyle/ entertainment, among others.
However, it does not have room for politics. The July 2017 edition was its first edition, and it was focused on the theme: ‘ Made- inNigeria’.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, the Publisher/ Editor of the magazine, Marie- Therese Phido, said boundless seeks to close the gap created by lack of business magazines in the country that focus on themes. She stated that Boundless as a company would favourably compete with other leading brands in the magazine publication industry in Africa and strive “to be seen as the go to magazine for thematic business issues,” saying each issue will be based on trending business themes.
“As a magazine, we will go the extra mile to bring on board some of the finest professionals to contribute and steer the magazine. We will at all times demonstrate our commitment to sustainability, by actively integrating sustainable business practices wherever possible.
“We will ensure that we hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards by meeting our customers’ needs precisely and completely whenever they patronise our magazine,” Phido said.
She noted that the plan of the company “is to position Boundless to become the leading brand in the online magazine business in Nigeria while also aiming to be amongst the top three leading magazines in the country before its third anniversary.
She disclosed that the competitive advantage of the magazine is to set a high standard in the industry, which would make its readers view it as a must read for thematic business issues.
“We have carved a niche for ourselves by focusing on business and will exploit the internet and online platforms to position ourselves. Our competitive advantage also lies in the power of our team.
“We have a team of creative and highly proficient, content creators/contributors, and graphic designers; a team with excellent qualifications and experience in their specialist areas.
“Aside from the synergy that exists in our carefully selected team, our content will be guided by best practices in the industry”.
The magazine’s editorial board comprises Chairman, Osten Olorunsola; and Vice Chairman, Catherine Bickersteth.
Other members include Gbayode Somuyiwa, Usen Udoh, Stella Ojekwe, Jacklyn Awobayikun, Ifeanyi Uddin, member, and Marie-Therese Phido.
“Boundless has its target audience as corporate executives, government officials, business people, celebrities, young adults, tourists/business visitors, and online enthusiasts,” she added.
