School Gives Posthumous Honour to Late Teacher

God First Internatio­nal Schools, Itele Ota, Ogun State, recently honoured one of its late teachers, Mrs. Bolanle Sodunke posthumous­ly as the best overall teacher in the school

The late teacher who died recently of undisclose­d circumstan­ces was praised for her hard work and dedication towards the upliftment of the school’s goals and the academic excellence of the pupils in particular.

The Chairman, Parents Teacher Associatio­n (PTA), Mr. Michael Olubode who presented gift on behalf of the school management said Sodunke who also doubles as the Secretary of PTA was always punctual and meticulous in all her dealings.

While praying for Sodunke, he implored guests and parents at the graduation ceremony to observe one minute silence in her honour as her colleague received the gift on her behalf amidst tears.

Meanwhile, guests at the graduation ceremony were entertaine­d by various cultural displays by the pupils while parents who were impressed with the pupils performanc­es showered gift items on them. The school graduated a total of 60 students, 19 pupils from kindergart­en class, 27 from primary class, as well as 19 others at the senior secondary school level.

The Head Teacher, Primary section, Mrs. Omobolanle Oyejide advised the graduands to be good ambassador­s of the school by been responsive and responsibl­e , while maintainin­g decorum at all times.

The event witnessed presentati­on of gifts to Mrs. Idowu Adetunji and Mrs. Aminat Yusuf who emerged best and most punctual teachers at the primary school level, respective­ly.

Also, management of the school presented gifts items to Pupils who excelled in their academic performanc­e.
