Bauchi Students’ Crisis: 10 Persons, Soldier injured

No fewer than 10 persons were injured including one military personnel during the recent students’ crisis at the College of Education, Kangere, in Bauchi local government area of Bauchi state, the Chairman, High-Powered Committee on the crisis, Alhaji Ibrahim Sule has said
The Chairman disclosed this recently, during the committee’s presentation of the report to the Acting Governor and commissioner of Education, Engr. Nuhu Gidado who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Alhaji Nadir Mohammed Yalwa in Bauchi.
Sule who is also a Permanent Member 2 at the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB),Bauchi, said the committee during the course of its assignment met with the college’s management, Students’ Union Government (SUG), village head of Kangere, victims, military personnel and the public for possible comments on the purported incident that happened on May 24,,2017 at the college premises.
Receiving the report on behalf of the Acting Governor and Commissioner of Education, his Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Alhaji Nadir Mohammed Yalwa promised that the report would be studied carefully and justice will be done accordingly by the government for all parties involved.
He commended the chairman and his members for timely completion of their assignment saying the report would be given due consideration.
Meanwhile, Bauchi state government has released 100 per cent WAEC fees for the year 2017,the Deputy Governor and commissioner of education, Engr. Nuhu Gidado has revealed.
He made the revelation during the 60th Anniversary of All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) held at the General Hassan Usman Katsina Unity College, Bauchi.
