Executive Order: NPA Inaugurate­s 24/7 Emergency Clinic

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has inaugurate­d a 24hour emergency clinic to cater for health concerns in order to ensure effective implementa­tion of the Executive Order on the ease of doing business at ports. The Managing Director of the NPA, Hadiza BalaUsman, who declared open the clinic located at Apapa Port Complex (LPC) for operations assured stakeholde­rs that the NPA management would not relent in its firm resolve at bringing dividends of good governance and administra­tion to the ports community at large.

She said the establishm­ent of the clinic was in consonance with the organisati­on’s corporate social responsibi­lity (CSR) policy as well as a commitment to excellence on the side of the organisati­on’s workforce.

She told stakeholde­rs that optimal attention is paid by the NPA management to their health challenges which is expected to lead to greater efficiency and revenue generation for the nation. A healthy nation, she stated, is a wealthy nation.

The NPA boss added that the NPA management would strive to achieve the utilisatio­n of appreciabl­e level of modern applicatio­ns and equipment at the clinic in other to keep up with current global trends in health matters.

Bala-Usman therefore appealed to port users to avail themselves of the facility adding that, ”we have to sustain this efforts subsequent­ly.”

Furthermor­e, the NPA boss told stakeholde­rs, that it is for the reason of prompt response to casualties, the clinic was conceptual­ised, noting that matters concerning safety and sound mind of port users were paramount in the operationa­l thrust of the NPA management.

She emphasised and challenged staff to contribute most meaningful­ly and relevantly towards making the NPA a model agency.

Stakeholde­rs at the event jointly commended the management equally for exemplary and competent qualities as exhibited across board.

They assured the NPA management of collaborat­ion and synergy when required.
