LPS Students Achieve 100% Pass in UK SAT Exams

-

The Lagos Preparatory School (LPS), Ikoyi has recorded another feat as 100 per cent of its pupils met the expected standard in English Language and 95 per cent in Mathematics in the 2017 Year 6 SATS results recently published by the UK Standard and Testing Agency.

The school said it has maintained the same 100 per cent pass rate in English as it did in 2016 and Mathematics has risen 6 per cent to 95 per cent this year. “These results are significantly above the UK national average where 77 per cent of students met the expected standards in English and 75 per cent in Mathematics.”

According to the Independent School Inspectorate, LPS which admits children from 18 months to 14 years, “meets all the requirements of the standards for British Schools Overseas.”

The school regularly opens its doors to ensure its practices are moderated by both Nigerian and UK governing boards. To ensure that LPS is assessed on a par with UK and UK-style schools worldwide, the SATS exams are set and marked by the UK Standard and Testing Agency. In his reaction, the Head teacher, Mr Nicholas Barrett said: “LPS prides itself in being a quality school, comparable to the best schools worldwide. The SATS results over the last few years and the recent ISI inspection prove this to be true. These high standards are the culmination of the efforts of the whole school community, especially the staff, students and parents.”

While congratulating everyone at LPS as they celebrate the achievement of such success, he said “all the best to the young achievers as they move on to Year 7 both at LPS and beyond.”
