Molek Group of Schools, located at Ofatedo in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State is 10 years old. The group of schoolsnursery, primary and secondary– was established on September 3, 2007 by Engineer Ademola Adeniyi and Alhaja Dhiliratulah Adeniyi.
The career of students of the school has improved considerably because of the availability of qualified teachers, good Information Computer Technology and serene academic environment.
This is done in line with the vision of the school to be among the foremost privately-owned educational institutions in the country, operating in line with esteemed expectations of parents, the society, as well as statutory and administrative guidelines of the authorities in order to boost the educational advancement of the pupils, students and the entire society.”
The school has become a model for other private institutions. To mark its 10 years of existence and valedictory service for the students of 2016/2017 academic session, the management of the school rolled out some programmes which included walk to live, visiting of the Motherless Babies Home, Osogbo, career talks, anniversary lecture, symposium, football match, inter-house sports and Jumat service. Awards and gifts were presented to the best among the outgoing students and other students from both primary, JSS 1, JSS2, JSS3 and SS2 classes to motivate them in the next academic session slated for September 11, 2017.
Speaking at the event, the proprietor of the school, Engineer Adeniyi said, “I decided to take interest in education after my retirement in the public service from the defunct National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) at Ughelli Power Plant because I and my wife, who retired as a teacher, wanted to be doing business that would be of help to the society.
“I also reflected on what I went through to acquire quality education. I was determined to offer opportunity for quality and affordable education to our children. I think teaching had always been in my blood though destiny veered me into engineering. I was always a teacher to my classmates during my days in school, especially from primary to university level.
“Education is one industry whose product is always on demand and raw materials are in continuous supply and it keeps growing if it is properly managed.
“My major driving factor in estab- lishing a school is my early travails in my educational journey. I vowed that, if God spares my life and gives me the opportunity, I would establish a school of very good standard that will give opportunity of Islamic and western education to Muslim children.”
On the journey so far, Engineer Adeniyi said: “We have many things to thank God for. The school that started with only two pupils and six staff now has about 780 pupils/students excluding crèche babies and 75 staff. “Within the same period, the school has turned out seven sets of primary schools and second set of secondary school and I am happy by the grace of God, we have been able to make quality education available at affordable cost to so many children.
“From the staff statistic, we have been able to provide gainful employ- ment to some members of the society thereby reducing family poverty level. We also have a positive environmental impact on the community and the school now has three separate sites for the Nursery, Primary and Secondary sections with adequate facilities.”
On the challenges, the proprietor said: “There is the poor access road to the school on which we have had to spend reasonable amount of money every year to make motorable. We pray to God for sustenance, and guidance, Molek is firmly on ground for Basic education from Nursery to Secondary levels while we keep improving on this, we hope to add the aspects of vocational/ skills education, Quranic /Hifzu education, adult literacy, and tertiary education /preparatory classes in stages, in the nearest future.”
