Cherubim and Seraphim Church Announces Appointment of New Prelate
The Advisory Board of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide (ESOCS) yesterday announced the appointment of Dr. David Dabaye Lamjose BobManuel as its new Prelate and Baba Aladura-elect.
The announcement was made by the General Secretary of the Church and Senior Apostle General, Dr. Napo Emuchay at a well-attended press conference held at the national headquarters of the church in Surulere, Lagos. Dr. Emuchay also stated that the induction of Bob-Manuel as Prelate will take place from September 7 to 10, 2017 at an elaborate ceremony at the church’s headquarters that will also mark the 92nd anniversary of the church.
Until his appointment, BobManuel was a Deputy Baba Aladura and had held several administrative positions in the Church of God. He was the General Secretary/Senior Apostle General for more than 10 years, Assistant General Secretary, CMC Secretary, Provincial Chairman and Provincial Secretary amongst other positions.
In his acceptance speech, Bob-Manuel thanked the Almighty God and members of the Advisory Board for his appointment to serve God at the top echelon of the church. He added that he will continue to foster spiritual revival, evangelism, righteous and holy living in the church.
On the issues of youth ministry and women, he noted that the roles of these groups will be enhanced.
He further prayed for unity among Christendom, admonishing that denominational differences should not be used to hinder the central purpose of winning souls for Christ and standing together to fight against evil and the ills of the society.
He also solicited for the cooperation, patience and loyalty of members of the church in order to take the work of God to greater heights.
The 76-year-old Bob-Manuel hails from Abonnema in Rivers State and had worked with Shell Petroleum and Development Company, retired in 2004 at a management level having worked for 31 years.
Bob-Manuel is known to be humble but very articulate and committed to discipline and dedication to the work of God and humanity.
His appointment as Prelate and Supreme Head of the Church makes him the 9th Baba Aladura since the church was founded.
He is married to Prophetess Elsie Bob-Manuel and blessed with children, all of whom are members of the ESOCS Church.
The ESOCS Church is the mother church of all Cherubim and Seraphim churches.
It is also the first indigenous Christian Organisation and Pentecostal movement in Nigeria, solely founded in 1925 by Saint Moses Orimolade Tunolase (of blessed memory) Bob-Manuel
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (TEPNG) joint venture (JV) yesterday signed a domestic gas supply agreement with the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria (GACN) and Greenville Oil and Gas for the construction of a $500 million first-of-its-kind mini Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant in Nigeria.
The mini LNG project to be built by Greenville in phases, would when completed reportedly become the first domestic LNG plant in Nigeria, taking up to 74 metric million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) of gas from Oil Mining License (OML) 58 in Obite Rivers State to Grenville’s plant in Rumuji also in Rivers State for liquefaction and distribution to end users across Nigeria.
The gas supply agreement was signed before the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, in Abuja.
