IHS Wins Remita Corporate Champions Cup

The third edition of the Remita Corporate Champions Cup, came to a thrilling end on Sunday as foremost telecommunications service provider, IHS emerged champions over online marketplace VConnect and six other corporate brands that took part in the tournament.

IHS defeated VConnect 4-1 on penalties in the final to emerge the winners of the third edition of the competition played at the Yaba College of Technology Sports Complex.

Both sides failed to breach the defence lines of each other as the regulation time ended goalless.

IHS scored all their kicks while VConnect players missed two to hand the trophy to IHS.

Regarded as the pinnacle of all corporate games in Nigeria, the other organisations that participated in the competition include First Bank, UBA, 9Mobile, Leadway Assurance, FrieslandCampina, and Nestle.

The participating teams were winners and runners-up of various industry games like Bankers Games, Insurance Games, FMCG Games, and Telecoms Games.

Executive Director, SystemSpecs, Nigeria’s leading financial technology firm and sponsors of the competition, Deremi Atanda, commended the organisation of the 2017 edition.

“More than all other editions, RC3 this year served as an opportunity to bring Remita closer to fellow players in Nigeria’s business space as well as numerous individual customers, in a relaxed, nonwork environment,” Atanda noted.
