DEATH SCARE! GOVERNOR ROCHAS OKOROCHA DEBUNKS SON’S RUMOURED DEATH
Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, may have been the target of many bizarre and blatant attacks in is political odyssey, but none threw him off balance as the rumoured death of his brilliant son, Ahamefuna. Blogosphere was afire when the rumour began to gather momentum. Promptly, Governor Okorocha released a statement, denying the rumour, saying, “The young engineer is doing very well in his profession. How could anybody ever wish his fellow human dead? This is strange and we all should discourage this kind of insinuation. You can begin to ask why human beings created in the image of God would ever wish a promising young man like Aham death, no matter what could be their reason.” He added: “Those who authored the fake death story only showed the level of their frustration and we won’t ask God to help them out or forgive them. They must reap whatever they have sown. The bible says, ‘tell the wicked it shall not be well with them.’ And we do so to those behind this disturbing rumour.” The controversial governor went further by taking his son around to inspect projects in the capital, Owerri. A first class graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester, Ahamefula Brendan Rochas was seen in public again later in the week to dispel the rumour. Many social media users contend that had the story been true, it would have meant that Okorocha got his comeuppance earlier than imagined. Following the demolition of the Owerri Main Market, popularly known as EkeUkwu Owerri and the drama that followed between the people of the town who believe they were treated unfairly and Governor Rochas, it was revealed that about three people died, including a 10-year-old boy, Somtochukwu Ibeanusi. Okorocha denied this however.
