I’LL RETURN TO TANZANIA WITH ABU TITLE, SHAURI BOASTS

-

Tanzania’s Ramadhani Shauri, who is billed to fight Nigeria’s Stanley Eribo for the African Boxing Union (ABU) welterweight title on 1 October, has declared that he will dethrone his opponent.

Speaking yesterday from his base in Dar es Salam, the Tanzanian capital, Shauri boasted that the reigning champion will have a very short reign, as he has promised his compatriots to take the belt to Tanzania.

“I am the champion in waiting. Edo Boy will fall. I am not flying to Nigeria for a vacation. I mean business. The belt is mine and nothing will stop me from going back with it,” he boasted.

Edo Boy will join three other Nigerians fighting for international titles at the event slated for the Indoor Sports of the National Stadium, Lagos.

Olaide Fijabi will defend his West African Boxing Union (WABU) title against Ghana’s Bilal Ibrahim. Another international duel will see Waidi Usman taking on Tanzania’s Juma Fundi in a challenge bout.

In the three remaining bouts of the seven-bout event, Rilwan “Real One” will face Samuel Opaogun in the lightweight category, while Rilwan Oladosu will swap punches with Tombraye Christmas in the light welterweight category.

In the light heavyweight division, Kabiru will duel with Akeem Adebayo. the canvas in the third round. I will daze him,” he boasted.

On his part, Skoro said his Tanzanian opponent will know what hits him, but will be unable to do anything about it.

“I don’t believe in the saying ‘he didn’t know what hit him’ because people usually know what hit them, but are unable to do anything about it. I will hit him till he surrenders,” he bragged.

The event will be broadcast live by SuperSport in 47 African countries.
