As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the need to nurture its relationship with its key stakeholders, the Nigerian Breweries PLC (NB) recently extended an arm of fellowship to the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) Passport Office in Ikoyi, Lagos. The Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc, Mr. Johan Doyer, made this disclosure at the inauguration of the newly constructed modern clinic, which they also equipped fully to taste at the passport office. The donation by the brewery also came with a 100KVA generator to boost power supply for the clinic.
The MD said the support they get from NIS as gatekeepers in the involvement of transfer of different NB personnel in and out of the country, is a critical part of their overall success, thus necessitating the need to support the agency.
"This initiative was executed in line with our policy of winning with Nigeria and to confirm, our company identifies with the vision and mission of key stakeholders in the Nigerian project”, Doyer said.
"In the last 10 years, we have shared the vision of safer roads in Nigeria with the Federal Road Safety Corps through our 'don't drink and drive campaign. We will continue to work with the Nigerian Customs Service in its drive to improve government earnings with our contribution to overall GDP by way of excise payments.
"Our philosophy of winning with Nigeria has also seen us contribute security patrol vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force and diverse support to the Nigerian Army by way of annual sports sponsorships, among others. Our vision in NB is to be world class in every aspect of our operations and this we have also translated to our interactions with the operating environment, aiding it to develop to meet the developmental aspiration of the government and people of Nigeria."
The Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, Zone A, Mr. IY Hamed, who was represented by the Lagos State Command Comptroller, Mrs. Clara Okojie, commended the initiative by the NB, saying that it would be put to good use.
