Pam, Markus, Torgah Earn 3e Actuaries’ Caps to Mongomo 2017

Daniel Pam, Elisha Markus, Sunday Odegha and Torgah have been capped to denote their qualificat­ion for 3e Actuaries Equatorial Guinea Open Championsh­ip in Mongomo, Equatorial Guinea. They secured their berth at the Ibadan Mesiogo Open which was one of the internatio­nal qualifying tournament­s leading to Mongomo on the eastern flank of Equatorial Guinea from December 13 to16. Chief Executive Officer of 3e Actuaries, Olawale Opayinka decorated the players with famous blue caps at the Ibadan Golf Club.

Fifty profession­al players will gather in Wele-Nzas region for a share of the $250,000 prize money attached to the tournament. Apart from Ibadan, qualifiers were also staged in Sao Paulo, Dubai and Los Angeles to expand the global outlook of the tournament to be held over the amazing Presidenti­al Golf Course, Mongomo.

In total, 94 internatio­nal profession­al golfers from 17 countries, including Gabon, Cameroon, Trinidad &Tobago, South Africa, Zimbabwe, UK, Ghana, Senegal and Morocco among others, attended the Ibadan Mesiogo Open which offered a prize fee of N10million. The event was an acclaimed success for Nigerian golfers as they grabbed three of the four places, leaving the last slot for Ghanaian Vincent Torgah, who advanced at the expense of compatriot, Kojo Barnini, via the sudden death. Oche Odoh, Gift Willy, Sunday Olapade and Mike Ubi held their tour cards from last year’s event, to ensure Nigeria will line up seven top plight players in Mongomo.
