Medview Airlifts 365,000 Pilgrims

-

Nigeria’s major carrier, Med-View Airline has announced that it has airlifted over 365,000 pilgrims since the commencement of its annual hajj operation 10 years ago. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Alhaji Muneer Bankole disclosed this at a ceremony to decorate three of its pilots as aircraft captains while another was decorated as a first flight officer. Those decorated were Capt. Olatunbosun Buraimah, Capt. Ayub Kambinda, Capt. Jika Keghtor and Mr. Eguare Oziegbe who was decorated as a first flight officer. Bankole said apart from airlifting pilgrims in all zones of the country, the airline has also spread its wings to other neighbouring African countries including Guinea Bissau, among others. “Hajj is one of our major windows as we have recorded a huge success in that aspect of exercise. When we started in 2006, majority did not believe in us, but we believed we would make it and today, we are one of the major players in that aspect of exercise,” he said. He said the decoration of the pilots was another success story for the airline. “Since we started flight operations, we have developed so many technical professionals and some of them are aircraft captains today. These crops of professionals that we are honouring today have displayed high level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties. “As a Nigerian airline, we will continue to develop local capacity for the industry. In our own little way, we want to reduce joblessness among technical personnel in the industry and that we will do. I congratulate those who we are decorating today, but I can only ask them not to relent in their efforts at promoting safe civil aviation industry for Nigeria,” Bankole added.
