- Christopher Isiguzo in Enugu

Returnee General Manager of Rangers Management Corporation, Davidson Owumi, has said that his new challenge at the Enugu State owned club is to build a strong professional background for the team.

Owumi who returned to the Enugu team recently said at the unveiling of Gbenga Ogunbote as Technical Adviser of the Flying Antelopes on Wednesday that the task would include all stakeholders, adding that the new management would expect constructive criticisms.

“Everybody will be part of the move to rebrand Rangers FC because we need to develop a brand for ourselves,” stressed the ex international.

Also speaking at the event Ogunbote, a former Enyimba FC coach vowed to return the club to winning ways beginning with next season.

Ogunbote expressed happiness joining Rangers.

He said that his target in the team is to re-launch it to finish the coming season in an appreciable position.

“Rangers FC is a household name and it is a privilege to handle the team. When the offer came I thought it was a special grace for me,” he said.

The coach said that his task was to look at the underlying issues that made the team to struggle during the last NPFL season.

“I have a name to protect and we will work assiduously to achieve it. I was not given a target but I have a target for myself,” he said.

Ogunbote said he left his former team, Enyimba International FC of Aba due to his desire for a new challenge.

“My challenge in Enyimba FC was to take the team to the continent which we achieved but I needed a new challenge,” Ogunbote said.
