ABBA KYARI AND ASO

- Sunday Adole Jonah, Department of Physics, Federal University of Technology, Minna

The answer to the riddle about a “cabal” at Aso Rock posed by Mrs. Aisha Buhari sometime ago was duly solved in one of the beer gardens of Minna where easygoing, chatty, and politically-minded folks repair to in the evening hours: in whispers, the answer was, “the man in red cap and the man who wears a white goatee.” When Senator Shehu Sani only recently threw a big broadside at some “jackals and hyenas” in the lair of the “lion king” and Mrs. Buhari picking up from there and threatening that these “scavengers” would be expelled upon the return of the “lion king,” at the beer gardens of Minna, folks once gain concurred that she was still referring to “the man in red cap and the man who wears a white goatee.” Whereas “the man who wears a white goatee” has conveniently disappeared from public scrutiny, “the man in red cap” was very recently caught in camera at a session of the Federal Executive Council meeting goading the Head of Service (HoS), another female, into a fit of retributive anger hinged on righteous indignation. Now, where is the gentleman’s etiquette about Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari? One had assumed that taking on Mrs. Buhari and keeping her points-of -view on how best to run a government shielded from her husband would have been too much for Mr.Kyari to handle; and now there is another female added in the midst in the person of the HoS. In my corner of Benue State, it is generally agreed that men who pick fights with women ought to be vasectomised for the simple good of it!
