-

The WellBaby Wellness Train - #TWWT, an annual project is bringing together stakeholders in the health and wellness industry for one day solely to encourage Nigerians to live healthier and happier lives by exposing them to right choices for themselves and their families. Beyond raising more awareness and helping with practical solutions, it is set to bridge the gap of connectivity; where businesses and individuals are linked directly to the products and services required to enable them make those positive lifestyle choices.

In this maiden edition, the train is focusing on “Childhood Obesity,” an issue that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared a global problem. Obesity is fast rising among children in Nigeria with about 1.5 million cases per year reported according to the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan.

Childhood obesity leads to diabetes, high blood pressure, heart and bone diseases and in some cases even death. Obesity is a result of choices made mostly in the area of nutrition and physical activity making it a preventable and treatable condition.

With the live Fitness and Cooking Demos, Landmark Tours, the Wellness Mart, the Experience Centre, the Green Lounge and Childcare Services; participants will not only get to engage in the conversations regarding the roles of the special needs community, media, schools, parents and the government on curbing obesity; they will also receive trainings on basic wellness techniques, know their wellness status as well as get pampered while they enjoy a free aromatherapy class at the wellness spa. With Arit Okpo as Host and facilitators such as AVM Femi Gbadebo, Lola Alonge, Mary Ikoku, Ifueko Thomas, Izefua Erhaboh, Samson Ologbe, Ruby Agu, Kemi Bawa-Allah, Okeyinfu Ajayi and Miyonse Amosu; the event promises networking and marketing opportunities for the discerning individuals and organizations that will participate.

“We are beyond excited to work with our partners and sponsors on this project as we all do our bit in making the world a better and safer place” said Kris Oziofu Ero, Convener and Owner of WellBabyNG; “We are driven by our passion for child and family wellness, because they are the bedrock of any society.
