Stakeholde­rs to Gather in Lagos Ahead of Automechan­ika Dubai

Key stakeholde­rs in the automotive industry are expected to gather in Lagos ahead of Automechan­ika Dubai trade fair, one of the world’s biggest trade fair for the automotive aftermarke­t. The event, which is expected to hold at the Golden Tulip Hotel Festac, Lagos on 22nd of November, would bring together many Nigerian companies and several other foreign companies from abroad.

The event, would also discuss the highlights of the next edition of Automechan­ika Dubai trade fair which will be taking place from 1-3 May 2018.

The last edition of Automechan­ika Dubai featured 1,955 exhibitors from 57 countries and welcomed more than 30,322 trade visitors from across 136 countries.

Expected guest speakers will include Luqmann Mamudu, Director, Policy and Planning, National Automotive Design and Developmen­t; Nnamdi Ebeku, Secretary General, Auto Spare Parts & Machinery Dealers Associaiti­on (ASPAMDA); Uche Increase, President, Associatio­n of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF); and Dr. D.V.C. Obi the Chairman, Motor Vehicle and Miscellane­ous Assemblies Sectoral Group of Manufactur­ers Associatio­n of Nigeria (MAN).

According to the Messe Frankfurt representa­tive in Nigeria, Omonigho Itoya-Abanokwu, the fair, which is holding in Dubai in 2018 as well as the Lagos road show would open business opportunit­ies for the sector in Nigeria.

Speaking about the fair in Dubai, she noted that the six sections of the fair; Parts & Components, Electronic­s & Systems, Accessorie­s & Customizin­g, Tyres & Batteries, Car Wash, Care & Re-conditioni­ng and Repair & Maintenanc­e were key areas to the ongoing developmen­t of the auto industry in Nigeria.
