KWARA GOV, AHMED, OONI OF IFE HONOURED

If you were at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Victoria Island, Lagos last weekend, you would have given thumbs up to the organisers of the annual LEAD project lecture.

It was obvious that they went the extra mile to put up the show, which was the 9th edition of the awards ceremony.

One of the highlights of the evening was the recognitio­n accorded the Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed and Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

While Ahmed received the LEAD Project Africa ‘Man of the Year’ for 2017, the Ooni was awarded the Lead Royal Icon of the Year. He was represente­d by Oba Adeyemi-Asaoya of Isoya-Ile.

The Lead Africa Think Tank Award is an annual corporate event that recognises and rewards government­s, industries, companies and individual­s who are making giant strides in their fields and contributi­ng immensely to the society.

According to the organisers, the award of excellence was bestowed on the governor for his high performanc­e since assuming office and his track record of achievemen­ts which establishe­d him as an expert in strategic planning and resource optimisati­on.

Meanwhile, Oba Ogunwusi was honoured for his role in promoting Yoruba culture at home and abroad. The Senior Special Assistant, SSA to the President on Industry, Trade and Investment, Olajumoke Omoniyi Oduwole, Managing Director, Slot Telecommun­ications, Nnamdi Ezeigbo, Registrar, APCON, Alhaji Garba Bello Kankarofi and other top dignitarie­s were also honoured for their achievemen­ts.
