Unusual Praise 2017 to Hold on Saturday
The 7th edition of the annual ‘Unusual Praise’ gospel concert will take place on Saturday 9th December, at the Atrium Event Centre, Lekki Phase 1 Lagos. It promises to feature an array of strong cast of gospel ministers from Nigeria and beyond alongside a host of top gospel artistes all drawn from various Christian denominations.
Hosted by the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Unusual Praise 2017 is expected to surpass the massive turn out recorded in previous editions of the event reported widely as the biggest Catholic gospel concert in sub-Saharan Africa.
Among the artistes to feature at the “unusual evening of unusual happening and unusual blessings,” the words of Sammie Okposo, one of the leading gospel artistes, are Nathaniel Bassey, Sinach, Chioma Jesus, Frank Edwards, Joe Praiz, and Chikah Jee.
Speaking during a press conference to announce this year’s edition, the chairman of the Unusual Praise 2017, Chimezie Emewulu, said over 20,000 people are expected to gather for a night of 12 hours of divine praise, worship and blessings.
According to him, Unusual Praise is believed “to be a time of unusual encounter with God. So twelve hours of pure praise and worship is very unusual. It’s an opportunity for evangelism also because we invite people from all denominations; especially Muslims, especially atheist to come.
“We have had some testimonies, just some few testimonies. But we expect a lot of testimonies of conversion, testimonies of brokenness this year due to the level of preparedness that we have made. So we invite everybody to come and join and be part of the unusual praise and be a part of the unusual encounter this year.”
