Automotive Council to Develop Electric Car Policy
Despite Nigeria’s inability to produce fuel-powered cars to meet the needs of its domestic market and the shortfall in the country’s electricity supply, the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has indicated that it is strategising and developing an electric car policy to prepare the nation for the production and use of electric vehicles.

The governing council of the Institute of Directors Nigeria (IODN) has honoured the chief executive of EbonyLife TV & Films, Mo Abudu, with the Fellowship Award of the institute as well as the 2017 IoD Entrepreneurial Award.
This is the first time in the history of the institute that anyone has been honoured with two awards in the same year.
The investiture took place recently at the IoD annual directors’ dinner and dance, held at the Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The IoD Entrepreneurial Award is awarded to the entrepreneur who has shown outstanding business acumen, leadership and demonstrated outstanding results in a company that has displayed great potential to become a successful player in the local and international marketplace.
During her acceptance speech, Ms. Abudu said: “It is indeed an honour to be part of an elite group of business innovators and game changers. Tonight, we celebrate entrepreneurs – the backbone of our economic prosperity and growth.
“When we started EbonyLife TV & Films, it was our goal to inspire the next generation of visionaries and this honour is a testament that you can achieve your goals with resilience, a positive outlook and a can-do attitude.”
The awards came on the eve of the world premiere of The Wedding Party 2: Destination Dubai which took place yesterday at the Eko Hotel & Suites.
Other awardees on the night included former Anambra State governor, Mr. Peter Obi and President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
