-

Bemas Technologies Ltd, an Information Technology firm has introduced another form of disruptive technology solution that creates ease of mobile communication.

The technology solution, known as UNIVSA, is an electronic top-up platform, which allows customers to top up their mobile phones with local airtime, even when they travel outside the country or outside their location.

Chairman of Bemas Technologies, Mr. Kola Balogun, while speaking at the press launch of UNIVSA in Lagos recently, said the solution would allow customers to create an e-wallet, through which they could top up their mobile phones from any location, within and outside the country, that is captured on the UNIVSA platform.

Executive Director of Bemas Technologies, Mr. Lekan Anlugbua, Balogun, who represented the Chairman, said the platform would provide opportunities for customers to be present in all the mobile telecommunications networks in Nigeria and abroad.

He said that the electronic top-up segment was a competitive market, hence, the firm added a number of things to make its platform unique and different from others.

According to him, UNIVASA uniquely offers the flexibility of sharing call credits among friends and loved ones.

‘’We offer unmatched benefits to consumers, to dealers and to businesses and their staff.

‘’Our aim is to reach our target audiences in the coming days, weeks and months and enlightening them on the features, benefits and uniqueness of this platform,’’ he said.

The Managing Director of Bemas Technology, Mr. Ben Adeniyi, who spoke on the importance of airtime on a prepaid phone, explained that it was critical for the growth of any prepaid service provider to offer many, quick and easy ways for its customers to recharge their prepaid accounts.

‘’Since prepaid businesses for mobile and other service providers are rapidly growing world wide, the volume of transaction is very large, hence the need for more channels for distributions,’’ he said.

According to him, there has been inability to top-up phones of loved ones abroad instantly, conveniently and securely from a single platform. This has been a challenge of unavailability of a unified voucher that could be used across any network.

He added that the purpose of UNIVASA is to ease the mobile top up experience of the Nigerian users. He said the solution with 400 global operators in over 130 countries.

‘’This is very different from what the banks have, because the banks are only targeting the banked without the unbanked.

‘’The unbanked is about 50 per cent and UNIVASA is targeting the unbanked and the banked.
