Boards Appointment: Akintola Congratulates Ajimobi, Oyo Appointees
Legal practitioner and leading aspirant for Oyo State governorship ticket in the forthcoming general election, Chief Adeniyi Akintola, (SAN), has congratulated the state governor, Senator Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi, on recent appointments of indigenes of the state and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) into boards of federal parastatals and agencies.
In the list released by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha those appointed as chairmen are a former deputy governor to the late former governor Lamidi Adesina, Iyiola Oladokun, National Environment Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency) late Lam’s personal assistant, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Professor Adeolu Akande, Nigerian Information Technology Development Agency, ex-president of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) Chief Bayo Oyero, Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, amongst others.
Akintola in a statement made available to journalists lauded the initiative of Ajimobi for rewarding men and women of impeccable integrity from the state.
He further noted that the appointments “reflect the governor’s character as a man of principle non vengeance seeking fellow who believes in fairness, merit and appreciation of the political and geographical arithmetic of our most noble and largest state, south of Nigeria.’’
The statement read in part: “I send my sincere congratulations to all my compatriots and fellow Oyo State indigenes especially Iyiola Oladokun, our leader from Ibadan land, Chief Bayo Oyero, my brothers and friends, Professor Adeolu Akande, Fatai Ibikunle, Zacheus Adelabu, Dr. Wale Okediran, Sister Lanre Otiti, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun and all others who have been graciously acknowledged and rewarded by our forward looking, fair minded and progressive leader, His Excellency , Aare Senator Ishaq Abiola Adeyemi Ajimobi. ‘No doubt the list reflect the governor’s character as a man of principle non vengeance seeking fellow who believe in fairness, merit and appreciation of the political and geographical arithmetic of our most noble and largest state, south of Nigeria.
“I have always been restating the fact that only the best is good for Oyo State and that there is enough for everybody’s need but not enough for everybody’s greed. ‘’Let us cooperate with our dynamic and forward looking governor who has graciously moved the governance of Oyo State beyond pedestrian level of the illiterates by the illiterates for the enlightened.
“Now that it has pleased Almighty God to bless us with government of the literates by the literates for the enlightened as personified by Governor Ajimobi and his lieutenants in government, it is in the interest of all of us to sustain the legacies of Aare Ajimobi, build on the foundation he has laid for the good of the good people of the state and look forward with brighter hope for the future.”
