Olugbenga Akintola Foundation Offers Free Medical Services to Oshogbo Residents

-

Nigerians have been urged to stop self-medication and consult medical experts whenever they feel any symptoms of ill health.

This advice was given yesterday by Mr. Olugbenga Akintola at a free health programme organised by a nongovernmental organisation, the Olugbenga Akintola Foundation (OAF), held in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

While speaking at the event, Akintola, the convener of OAF, said the programme was organised for the benefit of the masses, adding that government alone cannot do everything.

He also mentioned that the foundation has a Micro-Finance Initiative which has been going round the state to put an end to poverty and help small businesses and artisans develop their trade.

A medical expert, Dr Babatunde Samuel, who is one of the team of experts treating patients, said the programme is a good idea, especially at this time of economic crunch when people do not bother to check up on their state of health because of cost implications.

Mr. Ajirowo Akeem and Mrs Folashade, two beneficiaries of the programme, commended the Foundation for their kind gesture and prayed God to give the foundation more strength to further impact on the lives of the masses. Other participants also spoke of their gratitude to the foundation for the free clinic.

Drugs were dispensed for various ailments ranging from hypertension to diabetes to hundreds of patients who benefitted from the programme which is expected to be replicated in Iwoye-Ijesa on February 23, 2018.
