A Kogi State born Lagos-based All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart, Mr. Babatunde Ajibulu has stressed the need for wellmeaning Nigerians to support the less privileged with funds for their education.

Ajibulu, who gave the advice when his education endowment project registered 250 secondary school students for WAEC and SSCE in Ijumu Local Government Area of the state, said education is the biggest legacy that can be handed over to the younger generation.

According to the philanthropist, who gave the 250 slots to less privileged candidates, every well-to-do Nigerians, not only those holding political offices, should make a habit of ensuring that every youth has access to tertiary education in courses of their choice by giving them financial support.

He assured the people that the initial 250 WAEC and SSCE forms provided for the students is a first step towards an all-inclusive programme that will eventually cover Kogi West Senatorial District.

“This gesture which is the first of many more to come and which will hopefully become an annual activity aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal four of ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education,” Ajibulu said.

The Coordinator, Omoba Babatunde Ajibulu Education Endowment, Human Capital Development and Rural Areas Development Programme Office, Bamidele Ibitomi said giving slots to the less privileged is borne out of a burning desire to enhance the abundant latent intellectual capabilities of Ijumu youths and alleviate poverty.
