Champ Malta Gets Mancap Certification

-

Champ Malta, one of the beverages brewed by Champion Breweries Plc, in Akwa Ibom State has received the mandatory conformity Assessment programme (MANCAP) certification of Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON).

The Mancap seal is specifically endorsed on high quality and standard products produced or manufactured in Nigeria.

The Akwa Ibom State coordinator of Standard Organisation of Nigeria, Mr. Dauda Mshelia presented the Mancap Certificate after a thorough assessment of the product with his team.

He noted that Chap Malta has scaled all hurdles of assessment stressing that the product is certified to be of high quality and good for human consumption.

He opined that the logo of the organisation on the label is an indication that the beverage is done in the most hygiene environment using best international recognised practices. “MANCAP certificate is done once every three years and we don’t compromise on the standard, we have taken time to do thorough assessment here and we are happy with the way and manners Champion Breweries Plc have carried on with the production of their beverages.

“So we are giving this certificate to them as an encouragement to sustain what they are doing” said the coordinator”, he added.

The Managing Director, Champion Breweries plc, Mr. Patrick Ejidoh in a remark, said the management will never compromise on quality and standard of the product expressing gratitude to the SON for recertifying their product.

Ejidoh noted that electricity is a major challenge faced by the brewery, stressing that owing to epileptic power, the company depends entirely on generators consuming over 10,000 litres of diesel daily. “At the cost of N190, a litre, we spend about Two Million Naira daily on diesel and this is outside the cost of maintaining the generators so you can imagine the colossal waste and what shareholders are losing.

“So we are struggling to stay afloat and whatever work, we must make profits. We thank God we are meeting our obligations to our staff and making progress”.
