Ekweremadu: Asset Forfeiture Case is APC’s Attempt to Intimidate Me

Deputy Senate President, Dr. Ike Ekweremadu, yesterday alleged that the presidential committee headed by Okoi Obla to recover his assets is an attempt by the All Progressives Congress(APC) to intimidate him.
Ekweremadu spoke in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital during the South-east Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) zonal meeting which took place at the Government House.
He accused the ruling the APC of using intimidation and
blackmail against the opposition members of the PDP to retain power in 2019.
He said what he and other members of the PDP are currently passing through in the nation was unfortunate and embarrassing, adding that he would not succumb to intimidation.
The Deputy Senate President said: “As my people, I owe you the fact to tell you the truth which is that I committed no offence. Because the matter is already in court I don’t intend to go into details but let me just add that is only the politics of 2019.
“What we find out in 2019 is that the PDP will be the David that will save Nigeria from the hands of goliath and no amount of intimidation or blackmail will stop it. The APC government believed that it can capture power by intimidation and blackmail and it has never happened and it will never happen.
“I want to state clearly that what we are witnessing is unfortunate and embarrassment to us as a country a situation where a government in
