-

For children aged seven and above, a new game has been designed to help build their self-confidence, social skills, concentration, alertness, memory, business communication skills, social awareness, logical thinking and reasoning, empathy, mathematical skills and practical and concrete knowledge of economics.

According to the Managing Director of Distinct Integrated Services Limited, promoters of the game, Ima Mariam Agunbiade-Etiebet, the new game, The Chairman’s Empire among other things, gives children a deeper knowledge of economics and how it could be applied in running a business outfit.

“The Chairman’s Empire is designed to promote self-confidence among the youths. They develop social skills and healthy rivalry as they interact with one another in a competitive game that boosts their concentration and alertness all through.

“While sitting at this fun game, the child gains in self-confidence and alertness. His memory is enhanced as he engages in logical thinking and reasoning to make the best of his business investments. He cannot afford to take his eyes off the board because if he does, he may just lose money.”

Agunbiade-Etiebet added: “Study has shown that mathematics has over the years been the bane of many Nigerian students. The Chairman’s Empire game helps boost the mathematics acuity of most players. It is therefore expected that children exposed to this game at an early age would have an easier grasp of the subject of mathematics.”

By exposing their children and wards to the Chairman’s Empire game, she said the average parent gives them a head start over other children not so exposed as they learn early how to own and run a business of the their own.
