Excitement as TVS Tricycle Riders Get Free Check-ups in Ajah

It was excitement all through as TVS Tricycle riders in Ajah, Lagos, were rendered free medical examinatio­n for their health statuses as well as free mechanical service for their tricycles during a Mega Free Check-up Camp held in Ajah recently.

The 5-day free check-up camp organised by Wandel Internatio­nal, the flagship company of the Simba Group, sole distributo­rs of the TVS Tricycles and motorcycle­s by TVS India Limited, was a way of giving back to end users and the society at large. Numerous tricycles were attended to by experts mechanical during the exercise which the Head, Service TVS, Mr. Vivek Pendharkar, said would also feature free oil filters and engine oil, training for riders on driving safe and keeping the vehicle fit as well as free medical consultati­on for high blood pressure, diabetic and the condition of the sights of the operators.

“The main purpose of the free camp check-up is to give gratitude to our end users who have been supporting us. Our end users are our strength because they tell us what to do and what not to do. We support them by providing them with services, spear parts as well as establish strong personal relationsh­ip with them through our TVS dealer in this area which is Madam Olubunmi Kuforiji of FOBIMS. And through this we have been able to grow our business here in Ajah,” he said.

While declaring open the free checkup camp, Deacon Adekunle Pelujo, who represente­d the Oba Hafeez Olakunle Badiru, the Elejigbo of Langbasa, said the event would not only help the operators to put their vehicles in proper shape but also enable them keep their health condition in proper shape. While calling on them to take advantage of the exercise, he cautioned the riders to be careful and obey every rule and regulation while riding their tricycles.

Head, Tricycle Business, Mr. Amit Seth said, “We have been here for many years and we feel this is the right time to use the tricycles as a means of empowering people for better livelihood. And that is why we have upgraded the product to a higher level - the TVS Dulex Plus - with advanced features, it saves fuel, it is less polluting to the environmen­t and of course offers more comfort. This means that the rider is going to run the tricycle with peace of mind and at the same time saves a lot of money. Therefore, we are improving the condition of families and the society at large. TVS tricycle has become a respectabl­e source of income for youths and even young graduates. Rather than roaming on the broads, they now have decent source of income while living live with dignity.

“The check-up camp which ran for five days, featured training for riders to ensure that they maintain their vehicles to afford the side effects of pollution; so we want to service their tricycles to improve maintenanc­e. Also, there is going to be a free medical check-up for all riders,” he noted further.

The TVS main dealer in Ajah, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuforiji of FOBIMS, said when we started the project of sales of the TVS tricycles in Ajah here about 10 years ago, it was very challengin­g but because TVS is a company with integrity, committed to the end users satisfacti­ons, we have been able to overcome virtually all the challenges.

“Over the years, the company has amongst other things provides opportunit­y to improve technical skills of mechanics of tricycles by training them so as to reduce the cost of maintenanc­e for the riders,” she added.

National Sales Manager, TVS, Mr. Deji Olaniyan said, “Ajah is the home of TVS, what we have been able to achieve in the environmen­t is incredible. Many years back when we introduced TVS to this area, the peeole embraced us and today we are not only number one in Ajah but number in Lagos and in Nigeria as a whole. So today we are giving back to our numerous customers.”
