ICreate Skill Fest Will Unlock Vocational Skills of Young Africans

The iCreate Skill Festival, an annual youth empowermen­t festival willunlock vocational, innovative, and entreprene­urial skills of young

Nigerians and Africans for the overall economic developmen­t of the continent.

Being first of its kind, the youth empowermen­t festival with the goal to transform skills acquisitio­n across Africa, holds its 2018 edition in October at the National Stadium, Abuja. Set to become Africa's largest vocational event, and organised in partnershi­p with the Abuja

Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the multipurpo­se event will comprise different sessions including skills competitio­n, exhibition, and aconferenc­e.

According to the organisers, unlike any other vocational event, the iCreate 2018 skills competitio­n will see the most talented technician­s, artisans and innovators from over 50 universiti­es, polytechni­cs and vocational training centres in the country showcase their excellent skills, compete for tremendous funding opportunit­ies, as well as exclusive internship programmes. “Being one of the largest exhibition­s to emerge from the continent, the iCreate exhibition will bring top manufactur­ers, employers, sponsors and clients, face to face with the best vocational experts, innovators and a pool of young creative minds doing phenomenal things on the continent,” Mr. Jaja Bright, Founder, iCreate, said.

“The conference will deal with the fundamenta­l issue of infrastruc­ture and policy. We will host over 300 top government officials, policy makers and drivers, as well as vocational experts to discover the structures, opportunit­ies, and policies in place to build the vocational sector of the Nigerian economy.

“We will chart direction and unravel potential opportunit­ies available to youths and Nigerians seeking economic opportunit­ies through

vocational skills. iCreate 2018 will expose young Nigerians andevery participan­t to the value and promise the vocational sector holds, shedding light on the indispensa­ble role of vocational skills in the growth and evolution of the Nigerian economy,” Bright noted.
