2019: Delta South PDP Plans Mega Rally for Okowa June 9

As the 2019 electionee­ring activities gather momentum, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Delta senatorial district is set to orgainise a mega rally in support of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on June 9.

Addressing a meeting of the party stakeholde­rs on Friday at Patani, the Chairman of PDP, Delta South senatorial district, Chief Emman Amgbaduba, announced that the rally would hold at the Oleh Township Stadium, Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area.

Amgbaduba noted that the sterling performanc­es of Okowa in the last three years informed the party’s decision to organise the mega rally to drum support for the governor’s re-election in 2019.

“Our governor has performed very well and so he deserves our support for a second term because one good term deserves another.

He announced the setting up of a Steering Committee headed by former Deputy Speaker, Hon Funkekeme Solomon, while former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan heads the party’s advisory committee.

The Deputy Governor of the state, Burutu Otuaro, in an address thanked party faithful for their outstandin­g support for the governor noting that Delta South is indeed home of PDP.

The state Chairman of the party, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, at the ocassion urged aspirants of the party to work towards the party’s primaries as the state PDP is prepared to organise a free and fair primaries for all aspirants.

“Concentrat­e your energies on the primaries, I want to assure the good people of Delta South that the party under our leadership will be fair and just to everybody,” he said.

A Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja has declared the Chairman of Innoson Group of Companies, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, wanted.

Justice Mojisola Dada issued the warrant yesterday, following an oral applicatio­n filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) when the defendant for the fifth time failed to be in court for his arraignmen­t over an alleged offence.

The judge had at the last sitting issued a Bench Warrant against the defendant for not appearing in court despite several invitation­s.

The EFCC is accusing Innoson of obtaining containers of motorcycle­s spare parts by false pretences between 2009 and July 2011 in Lagos, ‘with the intent to defraud.’
