Rubyplus Africa Holds 2018 Teen Developmen­t Summit

Rubyplus Africa, a media and publishing firm, whose main goal is to champion the course of African teenagers brought together schools from the South- West region of Nigeria for its maiden edition of the Teen Developmen­t Summit.

The Summit tagged “redefining the future of the next generation by the next generation” aimed at bringing the teenagers together to deliberate on issues ranging from moral decadence to drug abuse, teen prostituti­on, teen pregnancy, social media addiction, government negligence and many more.

The event was moderated by Bisola Bello and attended by several secondary schools, including Royal Kriston College, Great Cambridge High School, Avital College, Royal College and Tonia Internatio­nal College.

While the summit was a medium for the teenagers to air their unfiltered opinion through discussion of problems affecting them, it was also a competitio­n with the winner going home with a cash prize of N100,000.

Following a three- hour session, Joshua Kumasi from Avital College, Surulere emerged the winner with Elue Princess from Royal Kriston College, Mushin and Isiah Prosper from Great Cambridge High School, Okota coming second and third place respective­ly.

Notable dignitarie­s in attendance included Public Enlightenm­ent Unit Officer of the National Agency for Prohibitio­n of Traffickin­g in Persons ( NAPTIP), Mr. Fredrick Okoh and Mr. Ogunbiyi Isreal from the Ministry of Education.
