STOP THE KILLINGS OF CHRISTIANS

-

If 100-plus Christians get killed in one Sunday in Plateau State, then verily the time comes when, if that Christian kill-ratio is sustained, no Christian would be left in Nigeria anymore. It looks certain every passing day that certain parties have determined to maintain that kill-ratio, and even up the ante from time to time. Basically, the life of every single Christian in Nigerian is under threat. What is happening in Nigeria now reminds me very much of the worldview espoused by Adolf Hitler at the end of the second chapter of his book, “Mein Kampf (My Battle).” For that sort of worldview to come into fruition there must be some strong central commanding political-military-media apparatus that encourages this pogrom of a people termed “inferior or pest” (here in Nigeria we simply substitute “unbeliever or kuffar” for “inferior or pest”). Simply, to have armed Fulani gangs invade Christian villages in Plateau State and kill with impunity, the Arewa media and Miyetti Allah only need to emphasise in their outlets that five Fulani cattlemen and tens of herd of cattle went missing along the Berom axis of Plateau State just as two or three more went missing the week before. Of course, it is clear for all to see that no such event ever occurred but that this powerful apparatus was just seeking excuses to shed blood. Such clear fake-news presentation had its awful precedent in the trigger of Boko Haram; anyone who would remember should recall that a prominent newspaper in the North unnecessarily emphasised, as if in sympathy, that Muhammadu Yusuf, the Boko Haram founder, did not die in a cross-fire shooting engagement with the police but was executed extra-judicio. In fact, that was a sympathy news headline for a man who had seized a Christian pastor and slaughtered him in public because his religion gives him the injunction to “smite the unbelievers by their necks until they fall down before ye the believers.” The leadership does not care about the Christian tribes-people getting killed in Plateau State and elsewhere. Marauding armed Fulani gangs kill with glee and gusto and the “learned” operatives of the federal government seek for excuses to throw Plateau State freeborn like Joshua Dariye into jail. President Donald Trump of the US implored President Buhari to stop the killing of Christians in Nigeria but Buhari seemed to have ignored that counsel and chose to seek “spiritual handshake and blessing” from a caliph (the King of Morocco) who is recognised as a living descendant of the person Buhari revers most in his heart.
