Apostle Suleiman…The ‘Man Of God’ Whose Prophecy On Ekiti Never Came to Pass
How the controversy-prone cleric shot blanks with his predictions
If you leave it to some Nigeria’s prophets, the human race may well become extinct before the end of every year. Like fatal men, forever doomed to inspire hopelessness and terror in the affairs of men, self-styled men of God issue doomsday prophecies like they are going out of fashion, every year. Regardless of their doomsday prophecies, the subjects of their dark predictions live on the sunny side of life. However, some days ago, an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, Lauretta Onochie, attacked Apostle Johnson Suleiman of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide over his failed prophecy on the recently concluded Ekiti state gubernatorial election. The controversial pastor had earlier prophesied that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election. According to him “God told me expressly that APC is finished in Nigeria and you will see how God will disgrace them in Ekiti. They will lose heavily,” Apostle Suleiman was quoted to have prophesied in May 2018. The prophecy, made in May 2018, however, failed as the candidate of the APC, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on the election. Reacting to the failed prophecy, Onochie described Suleiman as “a pastor who is not in talking terms with God but who continues to lie in God’s name.” She posted on her Twitter page: “A ‘Pastor’ who is not in talking terms with God but who continues to lie in God’s name. God will continue to disgrace them.”
