The former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George has cautioned the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over his utterances.

George made his position known in Lagos yesterday, while reacting to the events in the polity within the last few days.

According to him, the former governor of Edo state over-reached himself when he threatened to sack a minister, Dr. Chris Ngige, adding that Oshiomhole lacks such powers.

“I will advise Oshiomhole to pause and reflect before speaking because it could backfire. That is why when the president backed out on some of his statements, I knew the centre can no longer hold,” George added.

Also speaking to the return of the President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, some governors and others back to the PDP, George said it was a home coming for them.

He stated that he hoped that their re-entry to the party would not threaten those loyalists who had stood solidly with the party when things were rough.

“The onus now falls on our party managers to rise above pettiness in the management of this home coming,” he added.

He said it was good that the returnees realised their mistakes in leaving the PDP in time and quickly made a return home, saying that their case was like that of a landlord who abandoned his home for another person’s house simply because it was leaking instead of staying to repair the leak.

He stressed that now that they have realised their mistakes, they would be welcomed like the prodigal child in the Bible.

Speaking on why politicians easily move from one party to another, George stressed that it was because there are no ideological differences between parties in the country.
