Unaku Upenda Debuts in Nigeria

The Chief Executive Officer, Unaku Upenda, He Fang Fang, an Africa fashion brand has expressed desire to unite Africa designers’ designs, Africa boutiques and China productive clothing capacity.

Speaking recently at an exhibition in Lagos, Fang said they target middle and high class customers and actively respond to the national One Belt and One Road Initiative­s.

She also noted that they aim at widening the cooperatio­n channel of clothing fashion between China and the continent, adding that Unaku is committed to creating Africa’s fast-fashion women brand. Fang explained that their major platforms are the Africa designers’ website and the mall website selling the designs from the designers’ web, stating that the designers’ website is aimed at stimulatin­g the creativity of designers, “to cooperate with them by supplying China production chain and shifting good clothing production to the continent.”

She further stated that Unaku would make Africa designers’ clothes and promote these designs in Africa’s market, so the designers can get shares of the commission of these designs’ sales figure, stating that all the benefiting system is visible from the designers’ web. She added that African designers and their two platforms would lay a solid foundation to make African fashion a worldwide phenomenon, stating that it is the win-win cooperatio­n between China and Africa. According to her, “The aim to establish this project in Nigeria is to create employment. This project will cooperate with local people in the aspect of marketing, designing, wholesale and fashion show organisati­on. It will promote industrial­academic- research cooperatio­n.

“This project will enter local fashion schools or economic colleges for designing lectures, clothing machine introducti­on and marketing strategy so as to encourage intellectu­als to practice what they have learnt to the developmen­t of local economy.
