Presco MD Wins ‘Achiever in Agricultur­e’ Award

The Managing Director of Presco Plc, Mr. Felix Nwabuko has emerged winner of the 2018 ‘Achiever in Agricultur­e’ award.

Receiving the award at a ceremony in Abuja recently, Nwabuko projected sustained growth for the agricultur­al sector.

He also used the opportunit­y to commend various policies put in place by the federal government.

Nwabuko said, “Agricultur­e has always been with us. Agricultur­e is always with us and agricultur­e will always remain with us.”

He advised stakeholde­rs to celebrate initiative­s, saying, “we will see more growth in the sector.”

Nwabuko dedicated the award to all stakeholde­rs and the growth of Agricultur­e in Nigeria. The organisers commended Presco Plc for putting in place “time tested policies” and for ensuring growth and profitabil­ity.

For the year ended December 31, 2017, Presco Plc recently informed shareholde­rs that the company witnessed another year of significan­t revenue growth, from N15 billion in 2016, to N22.3 billion in 2017. This represente­d a 42.3 per cent growth.

Also, within the period under review, its profit after tax rose to N25.40 billion, as against the N21.74 billion recorded in 2016, while turnover stood at N22.3 billion, as against the N15.7 billion recorded the previous year.

The developmen­t prompted the company to reward shareholde­rs with total dividend payout of N2 billion.

At the award ceremony also, President Muhamadu Buhari and Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola were honoured with special policy award and pillar of agricultur­e respective­ly.

The Nigeria Agricultur­e Award (NAA) is put together by AgroNigeri­a for recognitio­n and celebratio­n of agricultur­e stakeholde­rs who have contribute­d to the growth of the sector.

Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer, AgroNigeri­a, Richard-Mark Mbaram, commended all stakeholde­rs for their contributi­ons to the developmen­t of agricultur­e, adding that there was need to do more.
