THISDAY

Oraye St. Franklyn

- Oraye St. Franklyn Esq., Senior Special Assistant on News Media to the Governor of Rivers State

Oga, Some goodbyes are truly difficult to say. This is why I’d rather you’re simply preserved in my memory, just as you are: pure, classy and humane, both in and out of our noble profession.

What I want recorded about you in history, is that at a time when it was convenient to be otherwise, for a grander purpose, you chose to hold strongly to a detribalised stance in your dealings with all humanity, while also promoting excellence and development.

I cannot thank you enough for amplifying my voice, by providing ample space for expression, under your guidance. Be assured that, you will remain both unforgettable and irreplaceable to me, as I believe to many others as well. This is not to say goodbye, but to admit that you’re already greatly missed. The vacuum is vexing.

So long Sir. Safe passage.

TShocking News he members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Port Harcourt Branch, are still trying to find the right words to express their feelings following the news on Friday, 10th August, 2018 of the death of Honourable Sir Emmanuel Chinwe Aguma, SAN.

It is certain that death is inevitable for every living being, but we never expected yours so soon, our Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice. The expectation of our members, was to hear that you were back from treatment abroad, and recovering speedily, but with a deep sense of brook shock, we received the news of his demise.

It is still like a dream, and difficult to believe this news. However, we take consolation from the Holy Bible that death is a necessary price, which every mortal being has to pay when it comes. Just as an American Philosopher once said “I know that someday my earthly house will fall, how and when I don’t know, but I know it will happen”.
