ADP Chieftain Vows to Strengthen Party

A chieftain of Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Osun State, Mr. Dotun Babayemi has vowed that to deploy the utmost zeal to ensure the party’s victory in the September 22 poll.

Babayemi spoke with THISDAY in Osogbo at the ceremony to welcome over former leaders of the All Progressiv­es Congress (APC), who recently left the party for the ADP.

He urged all members of ADP to embark on aggressive membership drive, stressing the need for all stakeholde­rs to ensure that Osun State was rescued from people that plan to annex it to another state.

According to him, “We will pursue our resolve to make Alhaji Moshood Adeoti the next governor of Osun state with the seriousnes­s it deserves. I have no doubt, Adeoti will win,” Babayemi concluded

Also speaking while receiving three members of Osun state House Assembly, elected on the platform of the APC, who defected to ADP, former APC Deputy State Chairman, Alhaji Isha Adesiji, said many of them dumped APC to ensure Osun was not further mortgaged.

Prof. Adeolu Durotoye, the running mate to ADP governorsh­ip candidate, while receiving the defected lawmakers, namely; Hon. Debo Akanbi, representi­ng Ede North State Constituen­cy, Hon. Tajudeen Famuyide representi­ng Ilesha West State Constituen­cy and Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim, representi­ng Iwo State Constituen­cy in the Osun House of Assembly, claimed APC had been hijacked by people on foisting an unpopular candidates on the majority.

While addressing the crowd of ADP supporters at the event, Durotoye, said to the party represents hope and better days for Osun people.

He maintained that the programmes of the ADP have been carefully fashioned out to meet the needs of all categories of people living in the state and called for maximum support from all and sundry to win Osun State for the party in the forthcomin­g election.
