Group to Discuss Developmen­ts in Insurance Market

Developmen­ts in the Nigerian and global insurance markets will form the main thrust of discussion­s at the 2018 edition of the annual Insurance Profession­al forum organised by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, (CIIN).

This year’s edition of the forum has the theme: “The Insurance Industry: Beyond Limits.”

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 19th to Saturday, September 22nd,2018.

A release by the organising committee, of CIIN, stated that the theme aptly captured the prevalent issues in the Nigerian and global insurance Industry.

The committee said at this year’s forum, seasoned profession­als would be doing justice to topics which include ‘Market Developmen­t and Expectatio­ns from Insurance Stakeholde­rs: The Insurance Industry Vision, Barriers and Innovation for Resurgence; Insurance Industry code of ethics – A review and The Role of Ethics in Profession­al Developmen­t.

The committee also said special focus would be given to work life balance and workforce mental health in an event which offers immense opportunit­ies for robust deliberati­ons on the issues pertinent to the growth and developmen­t of the Insurance Industry, the profession and practice.

According to the committee, some of the speakers confirmed for the forum include the Commission­er for Insurance, Alhaji Muhammad Kari; Managing Director FBN Insurance LTD, Mr Valentine Ojumah; Former Managing Director, Old Mutual General Insurance Co Limited, Mrs Rachel Voke Emenike, Managing Director, Custodian and Allied Insurance PLC, Mr Oluwole Oshin, Managing Director, Leadway Assurance Company Limited, Mr Oye Hassan-Odukale; Ven.Olusola Ladipo-Ajayi and Mr. Jeremy Mullen of the Chartered Insurance Institute, United Kingdom.

According to the organisers, the CIIN President, Mr Eddie Efekoha, has enjoined insurance profession­als to see the forum as a unique opportunit­y for continuous profession­al education and personal growth.

Efekoha urged all profession­als to attend the forum.

The organisers further said social side attraction­s at the forum will include a tour of the Olumo Rock and the famous Adire market in addition to the Profession­al Insurance Ladies Associatio­n celebratio­n.
