Jonathan And Bida-Mokwa Road
Igot to know about something one evening at a Maishayi spot over here in Minna by an unintended slip as someone was relating to another the amazing fact that there exists no single pothole on that over 116- kilometre stretch of Bida-Mokwa highway.
This amazement at the fact of a situation that a sitting president (Goodluck Jonathan) could build intra-state highways during his tenure in office without blaming the opposition or his predecessors for holding him back sorely contrasts sharply with the present circumstance of President Muhammadu Buhari wanting a second term on the back of zero federal-projects-executed for Niger State.
The Minna-Suleja, Minna-Bida, Minna-Kontagora, Kontagora-Birnin Gwari roads are so bad that the fellow relating that story about that Bida-Mokwa highway was beyond caring if anyone within earshot heard him saying that it was President Goodluck Jonathan who built that road.
Naturally, I interjected to offer my perspectives on what I think a democratically-elected president of Nigeria should do for the electorate and I did not mince words when I told them that President Buhari had not visited Niger State yet since he was sworn in as president to inquire what ails the citizens of this state.
