Kris Okotie Chasing Shadows?
Christopher Oghenebrorie Okotie, the founder of the Household of God International Ministry, is one of the leading “men of God” in Nigeria.
For some inexplicable reasons, the Delta State-born pop singer-turned pastor is not solely preoccupied with winning souls into the vineyard of God. One of his other attractions is politics. Over the years, dynamic Okotie has nursed the dream of being the president of Nigeria.
It will be recalled that Okotie first ran for president under the banner of the Justice Party (JP) led by Ralph Obiorah, after he was schemed out of the National Democratic Party’s (NDP) primary. Again, he ran for president in 2007 on the platform of a party he founded, Fresh Democratic Party, made no headway. Then, in 2011, he ran and lost still.
Strangely, the man who has been described as a serial presidential aspirant is at it again. Information reaching Society Watch indicates that the terrific pastor is not giving up on his presidential ambition. Okotie has distinguished himself as the divine leader to be elected in the forthcoming presidential election.
Meanwhile, he has been described by some political analysts as “an attention-seeking impostor who cannot be entrusted with power.”
Some others attribute his new expression of interest in the presidential race as a mere publicity stunt to remain in the spotlight having kept a low profile for some time.
