2019 AND LEADERSHIP IN BAYELSA
Election is the tool of the state used for selecting and nominating leaders into legislative houses. Legislative houses comprise of House of Representatives and the Senate. Both arms of the legislature are state apparatus for driving and achieving economic goals, political goals and social goals. Choice of leadership is a critical aspect in our yearning for economic development, prosperity and dividend of democracy. We hope for a society of a prosperous and abundant economy. However, our choice of leadership is a key determinant of our yearning for a prosperous and abundant Nigeria. We cannot afford to choose wrong leaders in position of leadership any longer. Leadership crisis is the greatest potent weapon against national development in Nigeria. Bayelsa is one of the states contributing immensely to national development and foreign earnings for Nigeria. Bayelsa State has three blocks in the Senate consisting of Bayelsa East, Bayelsa West and Bayelsa Central. Bayelsa East is in dire need of a God-fearing man that understands grassroots politics and knows the needs of the people of Bayelsa.
The choice of selecting Chief Darius Obienne to represent Bayelsa East at the senatorial polls in 2019 is a right choice that would drive economic prosperity in Bayelsa State. Chief Darius Obienne is the man the cap fits to drive PDP Bayelsa East to victory in the next senatorial election. Chief Obienne is a former chairman of Bayelsa State, PDP chapter. He was instrumental to both Timipre Sylva’s ascension as governor of Bayelsa State and the present Governor Dickson Seriake clinching of House of Representatives ticket unopposed in 2011. He has what it takes to clinch the senatorial election in 2019 election. Pedro Ukokobili, Lagos
