Smile Wins Innovative Data Award

Smile Telecoms Nigeria has been adjudged as the 2018 Most Innovative Data Company at the African Entreprene­ur Merit Awards 2018 held recently at the Abuja. The African Entreprene­urs Merit Award is a platform that recognises African entreprene­urs and corporate institutio­ns that have distinguis­hed themselves in their contributi­ons to the growth and developmen­t of MSME s in Africa. According to the organisers, the award was bestowed on Smile for its knack for innovative products and consistent provision of innovative services. The company was also commended for its massive investment­s in authentic 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. Smile Acting Regional Sales Manager, Abuja, Nonye Obianwu who received the award thanked the organisers for giving honour to whom honour is due. She dedicated the award to all Smile customers for their steadfast support and loyalty. She assured that the company’s commitment to the provision of best-in-class Internet services would endure so as to continue to serve the needs of its teeming customers. On being bestowed with the ‘Titans of Tech CEO of the Year Award’ Smile Nigeria’s helmsman, Godfrey Efeurhobo reiterated that Smile Nigeria had been consistent in the provision of valuable products and innovative services. “Our vision of becoming the broadband internet provider of choice in Nigeria has guided us in everything from selecting our people and partners to choosing the best technologi­es and creating innovative and relevant products and services,” Efeurhobo said.

IAA Nigeria Holds Inaugural Meeting

The Nigeria chapter of the Internatio­nal Advertisin­g Associatio­n (IAA) is set to hold her inaugural general meeting in Lagos this week. This was disclosed in a statement signed the pioneer President of the associatio­n and Executive Vice Chairman of the Verdant Zeal Group, Dr. Tunji Olugbodi. The associatio­n was inaugurate­d in Nigeria earlier in the year by the Global President of the associatio­n, Mr. Felix Tataru. The IAA, which was founded in 1938, is the world’s only globally-focused integrated advertisin­g trade associatio­n with membership representi­ng advertiser­s, agencies and the media. The associatio­n has unpreceden­ted internatio­nal network in over 76 countries and over 3,000 individual members across corporate, marketing services, organizati­onal and academic sectors – all involved in the branding, communicat­ions and marketing discipline­s. Speaking about the inaugural general meeting, Olugbodi said: “This meeting marks the beginning of an awesome journey and as an associatio­n that strives for inclusiven­ess, we are receptive to new ideas and suggestion­s to ensure the success and prosperity of this associatio­n.”

Malta Guinness Connect Northern Consumers

Promoters of the Malta Guinness brand made significan­t inroads into the northern markets recently when the brand was made the official malt drink at the Durbar Festival. The festival was held in Sokoto and Zaria respective­ly, as part of activities that marked the end of the Sallah celebratio­ns in those cities.
