Itel Mobile Launches S13 Smartphone
Itel Mobile has launched the new iconic S13 smartphone. According to a statement signed by the Marketing Communication Manager, Itel Mobile, Oke Umurhohwo, Itel S13 is created to capture clearer, brighter and sensational selfie with its 13MP front camera with soft selfie flash. The company also noted that its innovated 4- in- 1 big pixel technology enhanced the selfie quality in various light condition. “With the customised feature - Face Beauty V2.0, which is created for the chocolate skin color, user’s face looks slimmer, ruddy and smooth in real- time. The dual rear camera of S13 also brings professional portrait experience. Now users can take artistic portrait with blurred background effects. Itel S13 comes with a vibrant range of colors including the new eye catchy color – Bordeaux Red. The device is now available nationwide in all smartphone stores,” the firm said.
Dell EMC Unveils New Solutions
Dell EMC is launching Dell EMC PowerEdge MX, the industry’s newest high-performance, modular infrastructure, designed to support a wide variety of traditional and emerging data centre workloads. PowerEdge MX offers the first modular infrastructure architecture designed to easily adapt to future technologies and server disaggregation. With its unique kinetic infrastructure, customers can break free from the bounds of technology silos and time-consuming, routine operational management while also dynamically assigning IT to optimally match different applications and needs. President and General Manager, Dell EMC Server, Ashley Gorakhpurwalla, said: “While emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, IoT and software-defined storage and networking, offer competitive benefits, their workloads can be difficult to predict new challenges for IT departments.” The PowerEdge MX is designed for the software-defined data center – able to support a combination of dense virtualization, software- defined storage, software- defined networking, artificial intelligence and big data projects.
AIF Nominees Get $ 185,000 Prize
The African Innovation Foundation ( AIF) has announced its top 10 nominees, which is a reflection of Pan African flavour of Innovation Prize for Africa ( IPA) with representation from north, west, east, central and southern Africa. This year’s innovations address critical challenges in ICT, agri- business, public health and the environment/ energy sectors. This year’s call for applications with its theme “African innovation: Investing in Inclusive Innovation Ecosystems” attracted more than 3, 000 applications from 52 African countries. Building on the AIF mandate, submissions this year demonstrate significant breakthroughs in ICT, agribusiness, public health and the environment/ energy sectors to improve the lives and economic prospects of Africans. AIF Chairman, Walter Fust, said: “Now in its seventh year running, we have witnessed multi-million-dollar businesses emerging from the IPA initiative, and that the theme this year prompted the need for increased collaboration between government, business, industry, innovation enablers and the community to further realise African prosperity and economic freedom.” Managing Director of AIF, Pauline Mujawamariya Koelbl, who has steered the IPA programme since its establishment in 2011, said: “Africa, and indeed the rest of the world, must keep an eye out, as these innovations are ready to propel our continent’s global competitiveness in the market.”
